Anyone interested in a Roll Casting class Monday the 2nd?

I know that there will be football games that day, but I've got the day off and Taylor will be available to help. So, anyone interested in casting Monday?

Here's the plan, the class will be approx 2 hours in length and the topics will be the Roll Cast and we'll cover some of the arial mend casts such as the Reach Cast.

So, why learn to Roll Cast? After learning how to Roll Cast, I've found it to be one of the most useful casting techniques while fishing. It can be used where there is limited backcast room, to help retrieve a stuck fly, to ease casting a sinking line, and it is a great way to repeatedly put a fly in the same loaction such as the base of a small waterfall.

The class location will be Eisenhower state park so that we could do the Roll Casting on the water.

The start time would be 1:00.

The cost would be the entrance fee to the park and your gas money to get there.

Anyone interested in attending? If we have folks that want to attend, we'll hold the class, if not, we'll try again at another time.

Thats's a great idea. I see where you are a FFF CCI which is fantastic. I would like someone like you to help me with the Reach, Single Haul, and the Double Haul casting. Especially the haul casts, which I can use on the tailwaters, and saltwater flats.

Here is a thought for you.......... January 20-22, the Red River Rendezvous for fly tyiers is being held at the Bonham State Park in Bonham. I'm planning on being there on Sat. the 21st, leaving on the 22nd. If you would host a casting clinic say on Sun. the 22nd about 1:00 pm, I would definitely stay later to get some professional instruction.

That's fine. Thought it might boost attendance at both events if they were held together.

Also, you might get Dallas Fly Fishers to post a notice on their website. There are a lot of tyiers who get together on Weds. nights and Sat. mornings at Cabela's & Bass Pro. I'm usually at Cabela's on Sat. mornings and we have a good turn out.

Yes, I'm planning to be there, but I don't have any formal classes plannned. If the weather co-operates, I'm sure I'll be outside most of the day Saturday helping anyone that wants to cast. I hadn't thought about holding a class Sunday, but it might be possible. However, I don't know what Jerry already has planned for the weekend.

I think the Rendevouz is on Dallas's site. I've seen it on one of their updates. But I agree, the support of both the Dallas and Ft Worth clubs help make the RRFF events successful.

The Rendezvous has no schedules or agendas so Rex is free to do what he wants, when he wants (weather permitting).

We do have to be gone from the group area by 2PM on Sunday as per our agreement with the park.
