Not the best video I've made, but this was the trip I took with my dad and brother to fish Halibut and Salmon in Alaska in 2004.

I apologize for the quality as HD wasn't affordable back then...sorry for the Rod Stewart song...The Perfect Storm was big at the time.




If you can't watch it all, skip around. There is some great video of catching halibut and salmon as well as an Octopus we pulled in, a skate, bald eagles picking up the scraps after cleaning and some whales we spotted.

The bigger one's we had to use a 38 to keep the Halibut from knocking us out of the boat. Kind of funny to watch.

OK, although a fish was not landed on this video I am submitting it as it shows Danny (Dblaow Mr. Intensity)handing over his rod/fish to my daughter Erin whom he had never met so she could land a fish. This was on Lake Lavon 1-2-12 on Capt. Larry's party boat. First, Danny gave my daughter the lining to his jacket because Erin looked cold (she didn't even say she was cold, he just did it). Then he hooked a fish and handed the pole over to Erin. The fish got off the line but point is: Good Sportsmanship (you can hear Larry say this on video). If we win I am giving the pole to Danny. I've met some great folks on this forum. Enjoy.

Long story short......I got a water proof camera for Christmas and this the second chance I've had to use it. Me and D-Hobbs spend the weekend at Lake Welsh. This incident happened around 730am on sunday. Dustin catches one on a paddle tail while I'm throwing a topwater, and picking out a professional overrun. The line begins to get tight while I'm fixing my mess and I think that its just cause the boats moving away from my bait. A few seconds later we see a 4lber jump with my bait in its mouth......There are a few audio adjustments to cover up some unnecessary adult language.

for a minute there it looked like three stooges minus a stooge...funny video.

HAHAH we could not stop laughing afterward!

This is a recent trip with Shane Davies. It's a 9 minute video so just sit back and enjoy.

This video was taken back in October. Got to get out on a cool morning and take my shot at the lake record.

Fished hard and right after lunch we nailed it. Got it on certified scale and even made the front of the Ennis News Paper.

Here is the video I made using my 2 GoPro Hero2 mini cams. My first attempt at using Final Cut Pro X ediing. Takes a lot of time but u kinda get the feel of our trip. Gonna post this on the TFF Video contest under Photos/Videos, so if ya like the vid vote for it Thanks and enjoy, notice the last frames my scale going over board by Ryan, classic reaction LOL! I can help with any info on the GoPro Cams, It took a lot of awareness heck I even made Ryan net his own 11lber The underwater footage was tough cure its not clear enough. And here is a little taste of Falcon, my first but definitely not last trip!

Alright I'll throw one out there for a chance at a Dobyns.. I made this after a day of testing out the new video camera clamp mount I got for bow hunting...



I figured out after this day, that if you don't want your girlfriend or wife fishing with again for a while.. Make her wake up at 4am on a Saturday morning after working 10-7pm all week.. and go out on a 35 degree day with 25-30mph North winds in December..

I made this video while 'we' were watching her shows a couple of weeks later..

Lake Austin is known for it's beautiful homes, fine water skiing and recreation. Bass fishing on Lake Austin often produces jumbo central Texas bass. Fish weighing 5 - 7 pounds are caught regularly and 10 pounders on average of one a year by some anglers, it just depends on how much you fish. Here is a film we did for the contest, we hope you enjoy it.

Well woke up this morning and was excited to see that I had won, but then saw the comment below and was disturbed to see that I was accused of being a part of a plan to "rig" the contest. I have no affiliation with the person putting on the contest and didn't have a clue where my video stood till I saw the results.

I'm sure you're a nice guy BluWave, but I don't know you at all and you don't know me. It's obvious this was really important to you judging by your lack of participation on the forum in any other way outside of posting concerning the contest.

I'm not real sure what I did wrong? I had no idea how many votes I had, but I sure hoped I won. I'm not trying to be smart, but I am confused. My video plays fine with sound in the forum. I'm obviously biased but I thought the nature of some of the content (octopus, skates, etc..) was interesting, that is why I posted it. The others were great too. Shouldn't matter that mine is from 2004.

I'm guessing a majority of my votes came from my wife's desire to help me win a rod. She is due any day now with our first child (and the 1st grandchild), so you can imagine people are stopping by and watching online for updates constantly. We just linked to the contest since I don't think Ill be buying a rod anytime soon. Am I missing something? The rod is not important enough to watch someone debate this thing like the "hanging chads" of 2000. Its not worth the headache to me, especially with the other things going on right now...

I do find it completely illogical to throw out the top 3 placing videos b/c they aren't who another user thought should win though.

Don't cry foul over a successful campaign. If Sethmac had the support because of who he is and his friends voted for his video for him then so be it. Happy Fishing and tight lines to all!

Just wanted to say I was acting in good faith. I saw the initial instructions and entered a video I already had on Jan. 5. I didn't return till after the voting had started. Looks like that post above came sometime in between... I was actually reminded of the contest because I saw someone plugging a video on the Baylor Bass Fishing Team's wall so I obviously wasn't the only one who didn't know I wasn't suppose to tell anyone the contest existed. Just thought it was like any other contest and I fully expected to lose.

I enjoy the interactions on this forum, and would love a new rod, but this contest isn't a mountain I'm willing to die on...just isn't worth it.

This was never a video contest. Anyone with half a brain knew this would be a popularity contest. You really think most of the people who voted watched every video before voting?

Hi J.P, I've been completely forthcoming as soon as I saw the negative message. As far as I know, you have to join the forum to vote...past that I don't know how to determine what member's vote should count, and what member's vote shouldn't. I was obviously helped by publicizing my video as I didn't know it was a rule. I don't know if anyone else had friends vote for them or if they were just people who stumbled across the thread. Wasn't my place to scrutinize.

I had no intent to mess up your contest and will gladly do without the rod.

How 'bout everyone gets a new rod for participating? Then everyone will be happy!

It's up to you Sethmac. If you feel you won the rod fairly and within the stated rules, then it's yours. We can't get in your head and you are the only one who knows whether or not you were soliciting votes.

I didn't watch most of them all the way through but only the first part unless it kept my interest. Sometimes watching somebody fish is like watching paint dry..
It might have been better if you could not vote for your own video.. but then I would have gotten 0 votes and had my feelings hurt too quick somebody call the whaabulance

Man, I'm just disappointed that sub 2 minute video didn't even get one vote from anybody else. What do I need to change? The production quality wasn't any worse than the guy that won. I hoped that at least one other person enjoyed the highlights.

I'll admit I asked one person to vote for me before the pole/no soliciting rules were posted, once they were posted I didn't promote it any further.

Well its funny how people interpret things. I would take this post as evidence I didn't know of the rule since it targets current TFF member directly.

I'd wager nearly everyone on the kayaking forum has interaction with TFF. If I was being deceitful, why would I do it so publicly where people on TFF could see? That makes absolutely no sense. Am I going crazy? I posted it anywhere I had fishing buddies who might be on TFF...and on that note, Brady, if you knew there was a problem, I would have appreciated the heads up.

Like I said before, regardless of whether you believe me, my integrity is more important than the rod. I don't want it. But I'm not going to say I was dishonest when I wasn't.

I agree with Bass fro chop- shouldn't make the rules as we go along. Regardless, so what if a couple of his fishing buddies found out about this and voted, can't blame him. Also, it's not like it's a horrible video or something, it is a good video. Props to everyone for their good work on these videos, pretty cool!

Sorry guys, but I don't really see how this video didn't win. It was hands down the best. No doubt about it. Very artistic and I really enjoyed the shot of his leg to begin the video.

And either one of these should have been a close 2nd. The use of the camera as both hamburger and hotdog really make the first video what it is.
