I noticed yesterday that the heater in the truck didn't seem to be working, any of you ford guys know what the problem might be?

Well I took the truck to the dealer today, the problem was the upper and lower radiator hoses failed. The mechanic told me he has had several with this same problem, the hoses don't have clamps, they have a snap ring and inside the hose there is a o ring that is supposed to seal the hose to the motor, that's what failed, the new hoses have a double o ring in them.

Is it blowing any air at all? If so, check your antifreeze, top off if low. If no blow at all, check fuse and/or relay. If it gets past one of those two things, could be motor, ctrl head, etc...

It's blowing air, but it's not blowing hot air. The truck only has 25.000 miles on it, guess I'll be taking it back to the Ford house.

Check the coolant level. More than likely you have a coolant leak causing the heater to be inop. Take it to the dealer soon. No coolant is a bad thing ;-)

I have had the heater blow cold or just warm air on a gasoline engine when the thermostat sticks in the open position and not heat to the proper temperature.I assume the diesels could do the same thing.
