My subject line translates to: "I have some questions about waders"
What is the benefit of stocking foots and needing to have seperate boots as oppossed to waders with connected boots?
If you have stocking foot waders can you strap on any old boot that'll fit? (doesn't the stocking provide water proofedness and the socks underneath provide the warmth?)
What makes a "wading boot" a wading boot?
I have some breatheable waders from Cabelas with the connected lug boots. Also have some all rubber with lug boots. How do neoprene 3mm compare to these other two types?
I use Cabelas Dry Plus stocking foot - the main advantage from neoprene stocking foot is that you can pick the style of shoe to use in conjunction with the wader - I prefer neoprene wading boots over my stocking foot, as long as you can get the stocking foot into a shoe or boot you can wear any type lug sole, or no lug sole, tennis shoes, golf shoes etc - sure beats the heavy boot sole waders all to heck - I am on my third year of HARD use and NO LEAKS - I've never had that luck with boot sole waders.
You need about two size larger shoe if you also wear socks inside neoprene booties to be comfortable - wool socks are best because they wick away sweat from feet -
