Went with 2 of my nephews to RC Thursday. We got on the water about 10:30am. Found a school of fish right away under some birds near Pelican Island. After that died off we went and checked out the 309 flats and Windsock areas. Found a few fish here and there. Ended up back at Pelican and found a big school stacked on the bottom. We were the only boat at Pelican then. Caught quite a few there before we called it a day. Lots of good big whites and one 23" hybrid. Lots of hybrids between 16-18" throughout the day. The fish look healthy and thick! I'm glad that I was able to get back to RC. Now that I live near Houston I dont get back to one of favorite lakes near enough. Love the low boat traffic on the lake!

I was in the green/white Nitro center console. I saw Royce and Mark both on the water at different times during the day.

RBadley,

I'm guessing that might have been you on Pelican. We had a two boat Party of nine folks and got on the Lake around Noon. Had fish everywhere we stopped with a good catch on the West Turnaround off Pelican. Wonderful day with lots of action!

Merry Christmas!

If you launched at Oak Cove, how was the ramp and did you have any problems?

Yes Royce that was us. Right after yall left we we found the big school. We caught fish steady for over the next hour. You are right it was a good day with lots of fish! Love reading your reports.

Doyle the ramp at Oak Cove is fine. Trailer will sit lopsided some but nothing too bad. Water was never shallower than 3.5 on my depth finder. Its come up not quite a foot recently with the rains. I have a 22 ft center console with dual axle trailer and had no problems.

Yep Mark came over there as it was ending. We ended up leaving about that same time and headed down the lake to 309 flats. It was all hybrids under the birds there but most were under 18".

Chase,

The Suzuki Motor on my Polar caught fire a couple of months ago and I'm replacing it with a Yamaha. Our backup boat is a Fishmaster CC with a 200 Mercury, and I've been using it ever since. Sure drinks the gas compared to the 4 Stroke!!!!

(Adam want let me use his boat as he thinks I'm dangerous :))

I saw you Guys on the Flats when I was starting to fish, but looked like you were attracting attention, so just went on up the Lake. Actually saw 6 or 7 boats yesterday. Most on the Lake since Labor Day! smile

Merry Christmas!
