My Lowrance x-70's have played out and are not fixable. I need some input on which product to buy. I am looking for a gps/fish finder in one. Also the chart to be color.
I am willing to spend around $700. I want the gps/included in the buy. Some have the Navonic (hot spots) and some the Lake master. I do not think I need the side scan or the structure scan. I catfish only from 2-60 feet deep. I request any ideas on which to buy. In the past I had a humming bird unit that is 15-20 years ago and did not get any life out of the unit. My lowrance units (x-70's) have been used for around 10 or so years. Give me some in put. thanks john

H B 788 ci HD is a good one and under the price range you listed. It has a internal GPS so no drilling any holes to add a puck. I run this on the front of my boat and it does all I need in the front. It will do what you are asking and for a good price.

Im not sure what they run new, but I picked up a HB 788DI for $500 for my bow and absolutely love it. I dont think I would need side imaging up front either but I use DI all the time

Cabelas has the Lowrance HDS 7 for $799 then you get a $200 rebate. That would be all you need and are looking for.

With HDS gen2s being bought by many tournament anglers this Spring, near new used HDS gen1s will soon be sold very, very cheap. Just wait and used HDS10s should be cheaper than new HDS5s.

Thanks for the input. How about the longivity or dependability of the Hummingbirds. As I stated at first I did not have much luck with durability of the past Humingbirds.

Any of them can have problems. Bird has awesome service. Low race has had their problems.

HB still have that program where you can get a second year of warranty coverage by signing up to be notified by email of exciting new developments, offers, programs, news, etc?

Has anyone used a Hummingbird 798ciHD ? It has
Side Imaging (I fish for Sandys & Hybrids).
It is the small version of the $1,400-$3,000
units. Academy - online has it for $749

So you get a two year warranty with the HDS 7, and a one year warranty with a comparable HB unit?
