Hey everyone! I'm from San Antonio and I am thinking about hitting up San Miguel Creek tomorrow and try for some crappie and maybe some early whites if they're running yet... Anybody have any tips on what to use on crappie? This past spring I nailed a nice fat one on a blue/chrome gay blade. Probably head out around noon. Wish we could go early but my two boys are seeing the dentist in the morning so .... Looking forward to some good fishing. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Not sure about that creek, but for some generic advice, maybe you can try a jig and float w/ crappie nibble around structure fished slow.

Unfortunately, we didn't make it out to the creek. My beautiful wife had some plans that had to be taken care of before anything else came in to play so the trip is postponed for hopefully tomorrow morning or tuesday morning....at least it will be morning! Thanks for the info Tony! Much appreciated! Bought some berkely power baits so I will definitely give that a shot.

You're welcome. This afternoon I tried kayaking a creek here in DFW that has produced for me in the past in December. However, the water was too muddy and there was too much water flow for a crappie bite. The fish did show up on the sonar but for the first time in awhile I was skunked. If you guys had rain when we did maybe waiting a few days more will be a bonus. I can tell you that for me today the fishfinder was showing the fish generally about a foot or two off of the bottom in the deeper (~9') holes. If you can find any sort of deep structure in the creek that would be promising.
