Why does the HIGHWAY PATROL need a boat? Cool boat though.

6 machine guns? WOW!!! Wonder what those 900 horses feel like Cool boat IMO.

I do have some Questions though:
If the US squashed the cartel, then how would those agencies justify their budgets?
Don't, Border Patrol etc. etc. need the cartel to continue doing what they do for job security?

Why waste taxpayers money. CBP is suppose to protect or borders. CBP has a specific division for exactly what Texas just spent 580,000.00 per boat for!!!! Its called the Office of Air and Marine. Here is a statement from their home page.............
"The mission of the Office of Air and Marine (OAM), the world’s largest aviation and maritime law enforcement organization, is to protect the American people and Nation’s critical infrastructure through the coordinated use of integrated air and marine forces to detect, interdict and prevent acts of terrorism and the unlawful movement of people, illegal drugs and other contraband toward or across the borders of the United States.

This specialized law enforcement capability allows OAM to make significant contributions to the homeland security efforts of DHS, as well as to those of Federal, State, local, and tribal agencies. So why are we spending money as a state on these boats??? CAUSE OUR GOV CANT GET THEIR STUFF STRAIGHT!!!

Because even though they are called the highway patrol they are in fact the State Police or officially the "Texas Dept of Public Safety".

Why would I need to ask David Michael Hartley's wife about anything? What happened was heartbreaking. Has nothing to do with my post. I'm not sure this boat would have helped them on the mexican side of the border. My point is that Texas shouldnt have to waste more money if the gov already has bigger better boats but doesnt use them. I also agree with the comment "so people are always gonna bitch" the difference is that this person has spent the past 3 yrs working on the border watching your tax paying dollars get flushed down the toilet.
