How does the rain effect trout and redfish? I know that the rain most of the time- before, during and after rain it will help the bass fishing ....but how does it effect the trout and redfish?

Trout don’t like fresh water so they will move out and away from rivers or low salinity areas. Redfish don’t really care, so it doesnt affect them as much. Bass tend to become more active because bait becomes more active. Not sure this part applies to salt water. The basic rule is always, find bait and fish will bot be far behind.

I think generally the only thing it affects is me (other than what crawdaddct said above)!

Good Luck and Tight Lines!

And maybe, hopefully, eventually we will get enough rainwater to flush this danged red tide out! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to all!

Reds will stage around run-offs and marsh drains, etc. just like Bass- If the water gets too muddy, then they will leave. Crawaddict is correct, Specks dont like freshwater. Flounder can be found feeding also, not much effect on those. There are times when the Tides come in or out for a few days after a good rain, there will be a layer of Saltwater on the bottom. The Freshwater will be on top- Salt is denser than Fresh.I've fished the Bayou many times with these conditions...Caught Bass on the Top of the water column, Flounder, Reds, Blue and Channel Cats, and of course some Specks -NOT all at once, just over the years...
