I know this subject has probably been beaten to death previously, but I was hoping for a more current update. Searches yielded tons of online sources but not local outlets.

has anyone found decent Buffs in a brick and mortar store that is not a club that you have to join. In other words, besides REI?

Thanks, Phill

Academy usually has a really good selection. Good prices, as well.

They only keep them seasonally, so you may have to wait a month or two before they start carrying them again.

Speaking of REI, the REI brand buffs are actually really nice. They open up at the bottom, almost like a bee keeper mask. You can tuck this part of the buff under your shirt, and helps to wick moisture away.

REI is a co-op, not a club ... and although you can buy a co-op membership, unlike Sam's or Costco, a membership is not required for shopping there.

Carver, I have also seen them at Dick's sporting goods.
I ordered mine from moe's tackle shop.
U could call owner, mike oster to see if he has one he can put in the mail to ya. I had mine in 3-4 days. I know some drive to him and just pick up what they need from him.

We actually have some on sale right now. I will double check tomorrow and get back to you guys.

Last I checked, we had some of the aquatic/fish pattern buffs on sale for around 14 dollars.

They work much like a bandana, but with advanced performance. They wick away moisture from your neck and protect you from the sun.

Most of the modern neck gaiters feature UV resistance and are comprised of quick-dry fabrics. They are also very adaptable and can be worn many different ways.

I absolutely swear by the neck buff. Great tool.

A good demo of the new polar buff also at the end of this "how to use a buff" video.

This video take less time and gets the job done also. I watched it twice to make sure.

So they can be used in the winter for warmth and uv protection and in the summer for uv protection. Is that right?

Yes, but they are available in several materials for extreme conditions also.

The standard buff works pretty well year round. I am mostly concerned with sun, then wind. This last trip in the cold got me thinking about a new one again.
