I have a 1996 200 HP Mercury EFI with a gear ratio of 187:1. The lower unit locked up the other day. I have a new lower unit on a 2000 150 HP Mercury with a sticker on the lower unit reading 187:1 Gear ratio.
Will the lower unit off of the 150 HP fit the 200 HP outboard? I think if the gear ratio matches up, they will work.
I have a tourney coming up in a few weeks, so any help ya'll can give me I appreciate it.
I have a complete lower unit off a 2001 2.5 if you need it.
