It takes forever to start my motor if its been sitting a week or more. I found out that I can take the cowling off before launch, prime the bulb hard, then use the manual choke feature on the electronic choke to push gas in the carb; when I do this it starts fine. Would this show a need for a new electronic choke, or maybe just a wiring malfunction? Do these things wear out quickly? Its a 2000 model but I probably dont have 200 hours on it.

The "choke" is actually called a Fuel Enrichment Devise. And yes it can go out. Mainly because the operator was activating it too long and it got hot and burned out. It could also be non functunal because of the key switch. (You are aware that you have to keep the ignition switch pressed in while you turn it to the start position. As long as the key is being pushed "in" it is being activated)
My 1st test is to aquire a volt meter and see if you are getting power to the "choke" while the key is being pressed in. If not. It will most likely be the key switch.
