There are no bubbles, that is a summer time deal. Shad can be caught but be prepared to use your electronics and throw the net from 60 to 100 times. It ain't easy right now. Look from 15 to 40 fow. There is no one specific spot to go to and if you find them one day most likely they won't be there the next.

What chuck said. I don't have good electronics yet, and I really struggled to find bait last night on grapevine. Threw for about 45 minutes in different depths ended up with about 15 3" shad.

Another question to add... As the winter progresses, will the shad start to school up in deep water, or is it going to be tough all winter?

Surface water temp was about 49 yesterday morning on Lewisville. Took me about 20 minutes to catch over a gallon bag of nice gizzards and some threadfins. It's all about time and location. My net never sank more than 15' deep.

My freezer can vouch for Bobby. I took home the left over shad and froze them for later.
