Been wanting to catch a smallmouth out of Grapevine for over a year. Bad. Finally did it today.

Great water, nearly glass all day, great for running some moderately old gas out and testing out all the new gadgets and upgrades


Caught her right off my first spot probably within the first 5 casts, only fish I caught all day. Ha, fished for 8 hours.

Then I figured I'd go to Academy in Grapevine and scoop up about 30,000 yards of line and a crankbait for 36 bucks. $5 bucks a spool!

Its good to see they taking hold at the Vine. We were out yesterday as well, caught 7 fish in about 4.5 hrs. Sure is nice since all the pleasure boaters are gone!

I've never caught a smallie, once I get off this crappie kick (if ever) would like to try.

thats only my second smallmouth, my only other one was out of Tablerock but it was probably an 8 inch fish, not very noteworthy, this one is actually a keeper.
