Willing to Walk for Crappie?
Just north of where state hwy 95 crosses the San Gabriel, take county road 347. go east about 1.7 miles, the road will come to a T intersection, turn left to stay on 347. go another mile, then turn right (east) on CR 378. Stay on 378 for about a mile, then turn right (south) on CR 391. In about 1/3 of a mile, CR 391 will dead end in a dirt parking area. This is called gate 6 on the COE maps. You will need to hike about 300 yards south from the parking area to get to the river. Turn upstream and in 50 to 100 yards you will find a steep cut bank. (lots of paths where fishermen have walked) When the stream is running normally, this is a great crappie spot, not sure how it is now. Due to the length of walk, minnows will be a pain to mess with.
Hook em Up!
