I got my little watercraft legal a while back with the intent to get off the ponds from time to time and hit the big lakes. Today I made my first trip to the big waters;
Lake Grapevine.

At a real ramp, like the big boys.

My first spotted bass


Had fivelargemouth bass and the spotted bass. All fish were caught on shakey head worms fished 8-10feet on rocks.
A good first trip to the big waters with the little boat.

What was the water temp?

No idea... Fish finder crapped out on me as soon as i got there. Best guess would be 50

But I get the point, I could use some work with my fish photos. Less hands... (with practice, I bet I can make all my fish look as big as yours!)

Get a 'fish eye' lens or catch bigger fish.

Either one will work.

But one would be easier for you ... the lens.

Haha.

Lets see who gets the biggest one by March... You will be indoors the whole time. So that might be a cheap win for me.

And stay off my home water without my written approval ha ha.

I heard you got shut out today so when I catch my first fish tomorrow I will have the lead.

Nice fish Dan! What type of shakey head rig are you using ie jig head and worm if you don't mind?

I use Bite Me jig heads and Berkley power worms... usually black or pumpkin.

We are talking bass right? No pictures of those little speckled things you are so found of catching. Those dont matter unless you want to make tacos.

David has already taken the lead with the two fish he caught yesterday. I am going today so I will have a few.

I know the crankbait looks like it's the size of the fish, but ... uh ... I use BIG CRANKBAITS!

I went crappie fishing ... but I did have enough time to catch that bass so now I am the leader.

We are now watching to see what you are going to do next.

Hey Dan, Yes I was surprised to catch one this size...but it sure was fun. I look forward to the spring if winter is this good.
