I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a 98 jag with a mariner 200 efi. I know this thing would be best suited for a 225 or 250, but it's in my price range and extreamly clean for a 98. What prop would give me the best performance for this rig? It currently has a 23, but I'm not sure what brand. I don't want it to be slow out of the hole, but also don't want to compromise too much on top end.

A 2.5 won't push that hull past 65, so that 23 is close to what it'll want to run.

Thanks for the input, guys. I've actually thought about buying it and then swapping the motor. The boat is extreamly clean and was well taken care of, it's just needs a little more HP. I not really one who cares about top speed, but I don't want it to struggle to get on plane.

the 23p won't struggle too much getting onto plane, just won't be a rocket.

but, that is a VERY sellable engine!!!! you can repower easily with a 250 pro xs!!
then put on a 26 fury or TXP o/t4 and let er rip!!!

Thanks for the reply Steve. What kind of dollars are we talking on the swap of that 200 to a 225 or 250? If you have a ballpark I'd be interested in hearing what kind of money I would be dealing with.
