I am an avid crappie fisherman that my home lakes are Conroe and Fork. I have a camp on Fork and do very well there. The only problem is that I travel all of central and south texas. Does anyone know of crappie docks/barges/huts whatever that I could hit while on the road in the evenings?

Lake Winnsboro has a nice crappie barge and a marina that serves food. It is not far from Fork. 7 miles from Winnsboro on Hwy 37.

I knew of that one but I am looking for something on lakes like LBJ, Travis, Lake Belton, Choke Canyon, Falcon, Amistad, Corpus Christi, Texana, Coleto Creek. I know of ones outside of my work territory, but would like to find a place that I could catch some fish while on the road thru the week. I work central and south texas.

Bell County Sportsman Club has a nice dock in deep water on Belton if you want to join up. I'm sure Ken or Max could chime in with more info.

Have to live or work in Bell County to join the Sportsmans Club. There is a dock at Franks Marina by the dam on Belton. Not sure about the fishing there. Nothing on Lake Waco I'm aware of.

Years ago when i was stationed at ft hood franks was excellent at night for crappie in the winter but not sure now. Also the spillway right around the corner from there produced some huge hybrids in the winter

there used to be a crappie barge on Mathis.....but i have not been there in 15 years so i have no idea if it is still there or how the fishing would be. my dad and i caught some good fish there back in the 80's. i don't think people even call it lake Mathis anymore.

Hi Line and Paradise Point on Buchanan, East Street Marina on Travis (closed due to water level), LBJ has Longhorn and Llanorado, but you have to be a guest to fish. Have had luck during spring bank fishing the parks on Granger and Belton using lights. Hope this helps!
