Anyone fishing at the Chicken Coop area lately?

Nope but if you hear something holler. Been wanting to try it for years and think I will this year.

I grew up on Toledo Bend, fished it since it opened in 1969. Caught thousands of fish from Lanan Creek to Circle Drive Marina. Know every creek, road bed, flooded bridges, minnow ponds, sloughs, brush pile created from clearing the north south cut from ew 18 to San Patricio pass. Solans, Wrights landing, Huxley Bay, Converse, Fishermans Warph. Won more than 50K in 3 years fishing Bass Tournaments. Personal Best on New Years eve 1977...10 native black bass weighed 83 lbs 4 oz.
Problem is I have not been on TB since the 80s. Caught hundreds of Bass at the Chicken Coop in early 70s on Mrs Baker Green and White bucktail jig.
Best crappie holes I knew of were on NS 6, Wrights Landing and places on the river near Buzzard Bend and the giant Brush piles straight out from Supulvados launch

I havent fished it but have a buddy that has and he is killing them!!!!!!!

They are Killing them, most marinas having trouble keeping minnows. Parking at a premium as well.

Fished there Thursday. They are there but shiners are at a premium. Caught 1 that was 17" and almost a 2 man limit. Plan on going back Monday. You need to launch at newels ramp fee is 5.00. They are doing alot of dirt work because of low water conditions. Fish 20 to 25 feet close to bottom.

Heading back in the morning will give a report.

Caught 23 nice ones. the bite dies off afternoon. Fishing on bottom 2 revs up. goodluck

what time did u start?

I know a couple weeks ago the paper had pics of 2 guys with their limit of 50 (25 each and you must know that has changed this year down to 25 per person) and the 50 weighed something like 62 pounds. This was supposed to be near the coop.
