Been a bunch of additions to this event, so starting a new post to consolidate it all. The latest additions to the event are listed at the bottom of my post, in bold.

You’re cordially invited to SonArmageddon 2011.

How to properly set up sonar graphs and how to interpret the images are a couple of the most common questions anglers have. On Saturday, December 17th, we’ll have factory representatives from Lowrance and Humminbird on hand to show you all of the latest features of their sonar and gps units. The reps will be giving short seminars on the sonar basics to help you better understand how to use them. In addition to showing off their new units, they will also help answer questions about any current or older units that you might have on your boat. And with units plugged in and running, you can learn firsthand about sonar technology breakthroughs like Side Imaging and Down Scan.

Both Humminbird and Lowrance will have their latest software updates with them too. If you haven't updated your units to the latest software, bring them along and they can upload that on your units. The software updates continually add new features, eliminate bugs and map issues, and make the units run smoother.

In addition, Lake Fork guides/Lowrance Pro Staffers James Caldemeyer and Tom Redington plus Lake Fork guide/Humminbird Pro Staffer Marc Mitchell will be set up on Lake Ray Hubbard for additional training. They will have their boats on hand so you can see the very latest units in action on the water. Even better, bring along your boat and they’ll hop in with you and help you make sure your graph is set up correctly and then help you identify what your graph is showing you. Essentially, you get a 15-20 minute electronics guide trip for free!

If you want to learn more about the latest in sonar technology, how to set up your units, and how to interpret them to catch more fish, here’s your opportunity.

Reservations aren’t required but if you plan on coming, please post a reply and we’ll have add additional pros if needed to make sure we have enough people to serve everyone. I hope to see you there!

Additions:
  • The folks at Evinrude have donated some nice giveaways for attendees. There will be 25 free T-shirts and 60 free travel mugs. These will be given away on a first come, first served basis, limit one per person (you can get a shirt or a mug), until they are all gone.

  • Lowrance will have samples of all 4 models of the just announced HDS Generation 2 units! The new Generation 2 units have a 4 times faster processor and also allow you to overlay your side images on your topo map. Be the first to check it out, as they won't be in stores for a while yet.

  • Humminbird Pro and Lake Fork Guide Jason Hoffman will also be available to help with on water demonstrations.

  • Lake Fork Tackle has donated bait samples and some shirts as giveways. Free while supplies last.

  • Diamond Sports is offering an installation special on any sonar unit purchased that day. Normally, installation runs $180/per unit. For units bought on Dec 17, you can get them installed for only $100 each. The shop will be closed that day, so you'll have to come back at another time for the installation.

Good Fishing,

Tom
