Spent the weekend on Hamilton for the first time. What a beautiful lake! Early morning bite was slow but the afternoon was pretty good. Saturday afternoon found some fish in Oak Creek putting some small striper and hybrids in the boat strolling brood shiners. We stuck a monster that I fought for about 5 minutes before the hook pulled. That was on a free line about 200' out so half of the spool was already gone before this fish almost took the rest. The only thing I should have done in retrospect was fight it off the bow and chase it with the TM. We still put 15 fish in the boat including a 20" walleye. Sunday morning was thick fog and we couldn't buy a bite. So I told my dad in order to catch fish we had to think like a fish and eat some fish. So we ate some blackened striper left over from the previous evening and made a move. We went to Little Marzarn point this beast hit... She tipped the scales at 25lbs
Excellent fish. Spent 4 days there this summer, great lake, was very clear when I was there a hard to catch fish. My son lives about 1 mile from the lake.

Yes Friday evening a bald eagle made a showing. We also saw giant canadian geese, mallards, hooded mergansers, buffleheads, woodies, and some Aleutian geese. Not much boat traffic other than a few bassholes. We were the only striper fisherman that I could tell.
Beautiful fish!! For those who have never been to Lake Hamilton or Lake Ouachita you are missing out on something special. It is such an awesome scenic area.
