fished fayette on friday from about 10-5 with decent results being that i havent been in a year and a half. the weather couldnt have been any better this time of year. very light wind, overcast and about 25 degrees warmer than the previous week. found a couple fish shallow along the bank on medium diving cranks first part of the morning. bite was too slow so moved to some deep water on main lake point and really got into a school. sitting in 18-20 ft and casting up to 12-15ft with dd cranks and c-rigs w/ any natural color straight worm was the ticket. caught 7 bass in 7 consecutive casts at one time. stuck with deep water ledges the rest of the day and did pretty ok. altogether caught 35-40 for the day. biggest went 3.12lb and most in the 2 lb class. had 1 "big" one throw my crank right before loading the boat up at the ramp. i guess thats how i goes though. hope this helps all you guys weary about hitting fayette
also my dad went to conroe on saturday to try and catch some crappie. stowaway marine ramp is open, but barely. he tried using the outboard to back off the trailer and backed into a sandbar and broke his ducer mount. but, did manage to get to the main lake. he caught a limit of 25 crappie in about 4 hrs under the bridge on crappie tubes. he had 6-7 that were just big slabs. it was easy picking and good eating today
HAPPY FISHING!!
