nice, easy winter morning.
hit Juniper around 8:45, headed to a favorite spot, marked active fish everywhere.(sorry, no screen shots..)
took a few minutes, but first drift produced overs, & continued
thru about noon. cruised around a little, ended up back @ the same spot 30 minutes later & it was game-on! literally 5# ers at will for a good hour, drift was almost 3/4 mile!!!! went back, and they were GONE! nothing, nada. We took this as a sign from the fish gods to retire for food & beverage, which we did.('cause I forgot the dang sammiches!)
Congrats to MarkK for his new PB @ 34"/13#!!!!
5 hrs, 30-35 overs, 5 unders, 2 MAGNUM sand bass, great times w/ good friends on a beautiful winter day. Awesome!
thanks to my crew today: MarkK & Krazy Q, & a huge, HUGE thanks to Chris Carey for confirming what I had hoped for, and to his Dad, for giving me waaaay more than what I asked for. I called with 2 questions; how was the juniper ramp, & did I have to run to Platter for fish. Well, I got enough intel to make today happen, & what a day!!! thanks a lot Chris & Bill, You got one comin from me when you need it!
OK, now for some fish porn........... (um, that's yer Que, Wilson...)

just a little post note. All fish over 30" are released on my boat, as was Mark's beauty, in fine shape I might add!

Man, just got done cleaning them! Got some nice filets. Gonna trying brining and smoking them on apple wood. Anyone got a good brine recipe for Striper? The big one took me for a ride downtown and all around. Just had to let her tire herself out and finally got her to the net. Awesome day indeed!

Great job not everyone got on them this weekend. Seems you either tear them up or nothing.

The one thing that did not get tore up was Moe's dead assasins! I used one fluke for the entire day.

Yep, same here. Good for us and not so good for Moes?? hehehe. One of my rods still has the same dead assasin from two years ago when I caught a double digit striper on texoma and used it on Twok last winter and that lure is still going thumb
