I recently purchased a TFO 9 ft. 5wt 6 piece professional series rod and would like some opinions on a few reel options for about $100. Thanks for the help.

I was thinking of the Konic. Haven't heard a bad thing about 'em

I think the Konic would be a good choice for that price range.

i have a 8.5 4wt Pro. My Cabela's prestige plus I balances it out very well. It has a good drag and most nportantly it dosn't have the click when you real in line. and a very quiet click when you are stripping line off the spool. For the price range, you could get a reel and extra spool.

i have a TFO Prism 5/6 complete with new Teeny WF5F line, it has the Reel Recovery logo printed on it, I will take 100 bucks for reel and line, they are both brand new new, never been cast

Konic Fo-Sho. Not very blingy, but sealed mechanism, and darn near bullet proof.

I have a loomis Venture that checked in around $100 as well ... seems to be well enough made so far, although not quite as Zissou-Proof as the Konic. Gold and shiny too, if you are into that sort of thing ...

I like the Konic, but also check out the okuma SLV
for around $65 it has the smoothest drag for that dollar range.

I've got an Okuma 7wt that has been darn good too. I'd also take a look around the interwebs, particularly on ebay, for a disontinued Ross Rhythm in size 1.5 or 2. They can be had for about $100 these days - that's a lot of reel for the money and they are one of my all time favorite trout/panfish reels.

I have a Ross Rhythm 2 that I've had for 2+ years. It's on my 6wt. Axiom and has performed very well so far with many carp and hybrid stripers in the 9-12# range. I am kind of partial to Ross reels though.
