We have a high pressure in our area today (DFW -- 30.55” at 10am). Many fishermen believe that fish don’t bite well during high pressure. Wondering if those who fish today would comment on whether they considered the bite good, normal, or off.

I have only been fishing Crappie for about 20 months now, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. It seems to me the fish are much more sensitive to pressure when they are in the creeks in real shallow water. I fished Lake Lewisville yesterday for a couple hours and only caught five fish. I think the pressure was up then too. Then again, I fished LL a few weeks ago with very high pressure as well, and killed them. Go figure.

Today I blanked completely at Texoma. If I would have looked at the pressure before I left this morning, I would have stayed in. I have never done well with 30.40 plus. But yes, shallow water fish are affected way more than deeper lake fish. 1-15 ft of water, IMO, the fish get affected by it. Messes up their swim bladders.....

Dutch you should have said it messes them up (except when it doesn't). rolfmao

It was very slow for me today. Caught a couple nice sandbass and 1 nice crappie in 5 hrs.

Still trying to figure out if the bite on waco today was so tough because of the high pressure system that moved in, or because they fed ravenously the day and night before. we graphed hundreds and possiblly thousands of crappie on a slope, , and threw everything at them except the vienna sausages and could only get a couple to bite, the couple we did catch were stuffed with shad, and there was lots of shad in the area just hovering in balls ( non threathened posture).
will refish the spot in a few days and see if they turn on.

Chris and I fished CC today and same story. Fish quit biting at 10:30 or so and never turned back on. Beautiful day on the water today though.

I attended a Birthday Party last night, as I was leaving I noticed this bright white light in the sky. I think Bobcat is correct! Those little critters are feeding at night and taking the day off. Lovfldx's pictures tell the story.

I hit Hubbard after lunch and got skunked for a 5 hour soak. Talked to several other boats without a single fish in the well.

that being said, I have never subscribed to the bluebird day theory and normally do well regardless of pressure.

I got spanked yesterday though.

Caught probably 25 yesterday. Lots of dinks. They were hitting pretty good for the 3-4 hours I was out. I really had to talk them into though but they would hit it if you held the jig as still as possible.

I met up with a buddy in a creek Saturday. Was tough getting the water wagon in and out of the water...but worth it. Creek 7' deep, wtr temp 47, air temp 37-41. Fish were on break line at 4 1/2 ft. Was culling fish after an hour and 15 minutes, left them biting. Jig of choice was what I already had on my line, 1/8th blue head, white deer hair tail. Buddy found them, so I'll leave it up to him to tell location if he wants.
