For various reasons, I have decided, if I can put it together, that I will be retiring to LBJ. I'll be fishing there, with side trips to Buch. Of course, I'll have to put things together, but hopefully, I'll be moving in the summer or fall. I've decided that Granite Shoals is my best bet. I will be targeting stripers/hybrids/whites, but plan on taking up catfishing and perch jerkin. Any info that you might care to give, is appreciated. I'm also a hunter so any help on day hunts for does/exotics/hogs will also be appreciated. Friends are appricated too. capt david

Sorry for the triple post, but I thought that I might get more response if I posted it here also.

Well if you are moving to LBJ in hopes of targeting Hybrids/striperswhites hope you have patience. Plenty of whites but not many hybrids or stripers. Better start honing in on your catfishing skills.

I am a bass fisherman but LBJ is where I would retire given the chance.

I have been in Kingsland on LBJ for about 5 years now. Most of my fishing is done at Amistad! LBJ is just not a good bass lake, lots of boaters, skiers, jet fleas, etc. Of course, if you will be retired, you can fish during the week okay for cats, whites, etc. There is not a single boat ramp open on Buchanan right now. Close to 25' low. We love living in the Hill Country, however, so come on down! We moved here from Odessa. Are you going to buy lakefront? If not, maybe we should converse with PM about Granite Shoals...just sayin

If it isn't lake front than Granite Shoals would be the last place I would live. They could have filmed deleiverance there.

There are some nice places in Granite Shoals. Just don't get more than a block or so off the water. If you're gonna retire you want to be as close to water as possible. Just come down and check out the whole area. Sunrise Beach may be better suited for you Capt. Nice, quiet, laid back community.
