I have emailed the owners several times since the hurricane. All their land was lost durring hurricane Ike and they were not allowed to rebuild. The neighborhood that surrounded it voted them out and the state would not allow them to build any type of retaining wall and "modify" the coastline.

First we lose the peir at San luis......now we are losing Rollover....sucks to be without a boat here in the Galveston area. If your boatless...you get to practice COMBAT CASTING with all the other boatless folks on the piers.

I think I need to work a little overtime and pick up a skiff or something....Im tired of tangling lines with a half-dozen other people. And with all the losses we are taking, it just means that the crowding will get much worse.

I have a boat, but still enjoy surf fishing in Galveston. The new piers are nice, but I don’t like crowds. Go down to the west end and fish the surf. Half the time I’m the only one out there. The same goes for Gilchrest. I always fish the surf just east of rollover and I do okay. Better than sitting there waiting on a bite only to find out your tangled with three other guys.

Fished the pier ruins after Ike. Four of us limited on trout in two hours along with a couple of reds each.

Have anyone ever try to wade fishing around the old SLP broken down pier?
Wonder if there any FLATTIES in the area.
