The fly tying Fly-A-Thon 2012 will be held at Living Waters Fly Fishing, Round Rock, Texas. All the flies from the Fly-A-Thon will be donated and distributed to Reel Recovery and the Casting for Recovery programs. We will officially start the Fly-A-Thon 2012, on January 1, 2012, and will request fly tiers who commit to donating, submit flies by March 31, 2012. I understand some folks must work for a living ;-) and may need to devote part of their weekends to this worthy cause. We already have a donation flying in from Belgium! Any and all flies would be much appreciated! Participants need not be present at the culmination of the event to donate.

All clubs or individuals interested in making a contribution may forward their flies to:
Christopher Johnson for Fly-A-Thon

309 West Main Street, Suite 110,
Round Rock, Texas 78664.

Reel Recovery and Casting for Recovery were created to help men and women in the cancer recovery process by introducing them to the healing powers of the sport of fly-fishing, while providing a safe, supportive environment to explore their personal experiences of cancer with others who share their stories.

Any donations you can offer would be deeply appreciated.
Best fishes, Rod Viator

A most kind and generous thank-you to Jerry Hamon, the Red River Fly Fishers, and the fly tyers who donated flies from this weekend's Red River Rendezvous to the 2012 Fly-A-Thon.

Are you looking for any particular flies or just a general assortment?

Fly-A-Thon 2012 will be disseminating the flies to Reel Recovery and Casting for Recovery to be used at their respective retreat sites, so a general assortment would probably do best--some flies that are of the cold water variety and some flies of the warm water variety and some flies that are species specific would be appreciated.
