In Texas, can one use a model power boat to carry lures or bait out from shore / bank and drop the lure so fisherman can expand his range ? the model boat would come back to the fisherman after dropping the lure / bait.

I have a pond out in front of my house and last year a couple of the local kids got those boats and one tied a piece of mono to the back with a treble hook, split shot and a pice of hot dog and said he wanted to catch a BIG catfish hmmm, I tried to tellem no, but there aint no since talkin, if there aint nobody listen...We have some 10-12lb channels in it and they hooked one...I have never laughed so hard in my life rolfmao!!! Those kids were trying to bend the control handles on the remote to get the boat back flame......Didnt work, it looked like the Titanic going down taz! And we have yet to see that boat again!

i dont know. i remember some talk a few years ago about a striper caught by running an illegal bait(trout) up behind the dam to catch a HUUUUGE bohemoth river fish.

They sell a boat at BPS and Academy marketed for just that purpose. Cost about 30 bucks I believe.

That boat deal with the rainbow trout was below PK and yes it was illegal. Even though you can use a remote boat to move bait around you cannot use it to take your bait into a restricted area like beyond the keep out cable below PK.

If you could'nt take your bait into the restricted area they could arrest everyone who casts upstream from the cable which everyone does. Legal or not the only thing I have seen enforced is the actual person trespassing by going past the cable. Everyone casts upstream.
