I got to go fishing again yesterday. It was only my 6th time.
My Grandpa took me to the Intercoastal and Hwy 124 again because we can be there in about an hour.

I cast out a 7' Shakespeare spinning rig that I got at a garage sale last weekend for $6.00. Put it in a rod holder and then cast out my bait casting rig. The 2nd rig had not even sank to the bottom when I got a hit. My rod is a 7' medium light Ugly Stik and my fish felt huge.

I got about 8-10 cranks on the baitcaster and I kept hearing something but could not figure out what it was. Grandpa told me to hurry up because I had another fish on the other rig. What I was hearing was the line being pulled out. It took about 5-6 minutes before I got the first fish reeled in.

When I finally got to the second rod, I could see the spool, almost all of the line was out. This was by far my biggest fish. It took me over 20 minutes to reel it in. I would reel it for a while, then it would pull the line back out. I wanted to adjust the drag but was afraid I would not get it right and loose the fish.

The second fish was about twice as big as the first. But with the lighter action rod, the first felt like the bigger fish.

I kept both fish long enough to take a couple og pictures, then released them.

Here is a picture of my 2 fish with some Croaker that Grandpa caught.
