Thought I would post these here since I don't post anywhere else. Haven't fished or posted in a long time due to work, laziness and low water.

Went to Costa Rica and did 1.5 days of fishing. 1st half day I targeted roosterfish with no bites.
However about half way thru heard a large "whoosh" and knew immedietly it was a whale. It surface about 50 yards from the boat. Wife got the camera and it surfaced again and she got a shot of it. We had the cheap camera with us so the shot isn't the greatest.



Next day did offshore, 2 dorado, 25 and 40lbs.





Back to reality now.

The weather looks warm and the sea looks calm down there. I was in the 70 degree, sunshine state, Tim Tebow's country over the weekend but I didnt get to fish.

It was very nice down there. A little windy offshore but inshore was very nice. Didn't catch anything inshore but seeing that whale that close made the day. Even though I caught some dorado on the offshore the highlite of the week was getting that close to the whale. There was a group of kayakers close by and they really loved it. I asked, and they were dropped off near this group of rock islands and fished all day out of the kayaks. I think I want to do that next time.

It is really easy and close to fly from Houston to Liberia CR and if you split the charters with 3 others it is really cheap. I plan on going back next year and get a roosterfish.
