Hi everyone, I need some advise on Lake Winnsboro. Thinking of possible investing on some water front property their and would like to know about the fishing on the lake. The goods, the bad, what do you like about it and what do you dis like abou it . Also what is the primary fish for that body of water. Currently have property at Lake Tawakoni to where my family and I love to go out and catch the sand bass/hybrids, and stipers. Any information or opinions on the lake would be greatly appreciated

I dont think it has sand bass hybrids or stripers in it. Good bass lake (Ive caught a 10 lb LMB there) Good brim lake and ok on crappie Full of stumps and hard to get around Verry small lake

DJB is right on..Mostly LMB, catfish, crappie is good under the 515 bridge and other one on the lake. Looking pretty low right now, gets that way fast during drought. Not a big lake at all and full of stumps. They have done some improvements, have a fishing dock with a cover over the top, marina that serves a buffet at noon and has bait. Lake is not very deep maybe 30ft. Winnsboro is a nice community..slow and quiet.

Fished it four times this last month. Did very well on Crappie after the last cold front. Have seen 8lb+ bass caught. The best part, NO TRAFFIC. It is like having your own private lake during the week. The boat ramp at the Dam (off hwy 37) is still OK and usable for 21 foot boats. The deepest water I have found is 17 feet (at the dam). I like the lake, however it is small and it seems to be feast or famine. The bad days are really bad. Hope this helps you.

Used to go catch huge red ear perch there when I was a kid. Great little lake.

I like the lake and really like the crappie house and store
The wife and I have looked around at the available lake fronts and we have seen a few we liked
