Sam Rayburn is at 150 .94 ft and has came up just a little from the rain we have been getting when front push though. Sam Rayburn is still low but things have been looking up.

This young man hadn't fished in years and as you can see he still got what it takes to fish. Look at the smile on his face but the best thing was someone took the time to get him in the boat and on the water again. This has bought a new sparkle in his eyes and a will to go again. I can't wait till he hooks into that big bass and the fight will be on.

The lake is 13.46 ft low and we are seeing a lot of sandbars and humps. There is a lot of timber above the waterline which makes it easy to see. With humps, sand bars, timber and the grass that is coming up around all of this it looks like fishing paradise.

I got out there once this week and had a great time catching a lot of fish. I've been working on getting some new brush piles ready and getting things fixed up for the new year. Now's the time to get the boat down to the shop, get a new water pump put in, the lower unit oil changed out and any other things you might need done. Lots of folks are out hunting and getting things ready for Christmas so beat the rush and get it down to the shop. I took mine down to Bowden Marine in Humble to get serviced and replaced a fuel line that was bad.

The fish have been chasing everything so all you can do is go hunting for some active fish and cover a lot of water. There are a lot of fish hanging around the outside points and grass line. Soft plastic like senko’s and flukes have been pretty good for you guys that want to fish slow and feel the thump. Now for you speedy guys, Stanley spinner bait in white with gold blades has been catching a few fish. Also try Crankbaits and Lipless bait around the grass. There've been a few fish holding on structure in 12 to 22 ft of ledges and drops and the old C/R and Stanley Football has been the best to get down there and get them to bite. Brush hogs and Old Monster worms in Watermelon Red and Green Pumpkin are two colors I've been getting them to hit.

Don’t forget we have Gift Certificates for Christmas for that someone special and they are good for a year. There is also a discount running till Dec 25, 2011. So don’t wait.

Remember the Sharelunker Program entries started on October 1 and run thru April 30th. If you haven’t heard, it encourages anglers who catch a 13 - pound- plus largemouth bass to lend or donate it to the TPWD for spawning purposes. There are some great benefits doing this and one of them is that the angler receives a fiberglass replica of the bass. There is a 24- hour pager at 1-888-784-0600 Check out the Program rules at their site along with the Benefits. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/visitorcenters/tffc/sharelunker/

Crappie; The Crappie fishing has also been slow as they move up river, but we are still catching a few. They should start bunching up and that’s when it will get good. Getting out days having fun with your friends and family is the best. Grab the kids and friends and come out to enjoy a day on the water. Everyone has loved the new pontoon with the shade, changing room and the port-o-potty. We can handle up to 8 anglers.

Boat ramps at middle lake: Jackson Hill Marina cleaned their ramps a few weeks back and I have been using it. The new Cassell Boykin ramps are still under repair but they have been lunching some boat there. They got the hump taken out and will be working on extending one ramp at a time. You just have to check them out when you get there. Hopefully everything goes good there.

God Bless
