Ken Paulie Elk City Reservoir, Kansas World Record Flathead The HUGE Flathead was caught on May 14th 1998 and topped the scales at 123lbs!!!!. Now heres the go-getter.....Ken caught this thing on a Zebco 33 reel, spooled with 12lb test line!?! Now just try to imagine that fight in the back of your mind!

That's cool... I remember my dad catching a 44 lb black drum from the Brownsville turning basin on a zebco 33 . Took so long to get it in my mom had to point the "wood wagon" to the bank and turn on the lights...

Was too broke to afford a Zebco 33. So for bout 10 years, I used the Zebco 202.....it retailed for $ 1.98.

33's are made of plastic internally and not the steel they once were made of,just like everything else.
I have a car and a friend told me the 130,000 miles on it is about all Im going to get because when it was sold the car companies were desperate for profits.

33's are made of plastic internally and not the steel they once were made of,just like everything else.
I have a car and a friend told me the 130,000 miles on it is about all Im going to get because when it was sold the car companies were desperate for profits. Yes, the original design of the 33 was the best reel ever made.

The platinum series are made of steel. Friends laugh when I fish with my zebco 33 and walker tuff tip rods, I have some nice high end rod n reel combos, but I catch as many on my zebco33 combo as I do the others....
I likes em!!!

I bought 3 of them at a yard sale for $5 bucks they work great for crappie!!

I bet you that thing wouldn't last through one week of hauling snappers out of the gulf. Are they good reels? You bet, for what they are! But I really want to see someone stop a 15lb jack crevalle on one of those!

Caught a lot a fish on a Zebco 202 and 404 when I was young until I moved up to a Mitchell 300 and Ambassaduer 5000.

I fished the Keys with the saltwater version of the zebco 33. My buddy had it onboard for his mother and I fished the reef all night using the reel as a joke. No joking, but I caught some nice fish that evening. I think I spooled it with 30lb test.  My avatar on 360tuna. $40 dollar rod/reel combo. Hilarious!  It did handle this nurse shark. Even more hilarious!

Academy has the Zebco 33 Omega Z03 combo on clearance for $45 - $10 cheaper than the reel by itself.........

Academy has the Zebco 33 Omega Z03 combo on clearance for $45 - $10 cheaper than the reel by itself......... There was an additional mark down on these last week ... now $34.88. Heck of a deal (now $25 less than their price on the reel). Picked up two for Xmas gifts.
