Thinking about getting a GoPro video camera and mounting it at the rear of the boat but was unsure if or how it would secure. Anybody have one and how did you mount it? Ideas and rating on the GoPro itself would be appreciated . helpsign

Thanks

Don't have a cam yet, but been trying to figure that myself. Maybe use the navigation light socket in some fashion? (Clamp a bracket to the shaft, or just use a spare/similar shaft for the camera alone). Not sure how stable it'd be though, those sockets aren't really made for a lot of weight. Good luck!

I have one and love it.

Already done a review of it so you can check it out here:

As far as mounting. The possibilities are really endless. I keep mine on the top of the grab rail of my center console and it covers everything on the boat from the console forward from there. I use a bicycle handle bar mount for that location.

I took a piece of square metal tubing and made a mount for the back of my boat that I inserted into one of my Bee Ready Rod Holder bases but ended up scrapping it. I was happier with the picture on the console and my clients kept whacking the pole with their fishing rods.

Here is a couple of videos
