Do you prefer one over the other or both?

How many beads do you use, & why?

most use beads .....one bead just above swivel on Santee Cooper rig to protect the knot from no roll sinker and/or to keep the knot from hanging up on the no roll sinker

I use a 3/8 inch piece of vacumm hose for a "bumper". It's a lot cheaper to buy a couple feet at autozone and cut them to size than to buy them premade. I still put the pretty red beads on cause they look nice lol. I don't like the thought of the bead or weight or anything really sliding down my line and rubbing the knot everytime I cast so I started using them

I have never used them. And I havnt had a knot get damaged yet. But lots of guys do. I figure its one more thing to replace when I break off.

I use the beads from the crafts/sewing department at walmart. Couple of hundred for a couple of dollars.

+1. I bought a bag of them a few weeks ago. It was 1.98 for something like 500 beads. I filled up a tray in my organizer with them and the bag is still nearly full. Can't beat it for the price.

I don't use either. Very seldom have I seen a knot damaged from the weight. My theory is the more stuff I had sitting on the bottom of the lake the more $$ I'll end up leaving down there when I break off. Personal preferrence I guess.

+1 on the craft store beads. Those red ones in the fishing department are way overpriced.

Bumpers because they don't break like the beads will. When I used beads, I got them from wal-mart like Tom. I only use the red ones and always used 2 (for when one busted, lol)

A friend gave me some Glow in the Darks yesterday.
They only glow for about 5 minutes or so.

Doe's anyone feel that the clacking helps em locate the offering when drifting?
