Looking back over the last twenty years I found that when the lake is low going into the winter months the whitebass will begin to roam the shallow shoals and points of the upper lake just like they do in the spring. Now I know the lake has never been this low but that might not be a disadvantage. I can think of two times in December when we killed the whitebass and hybrids tight-lining ghost minnows off the banks of Birch park on the north shore and Pecan park on the south. So if you got nothing better to do and you are waiting for the spring whitebass run, NOW might be the time to start. The drought has everything all jacked up and the wildlife is doing some strange things.
