If you see our camper posting and yet have a trailer you already pull ATVs, Boats, or other things then you might be interested in our pickup camper model which is currently being developed. It would have a sleeping area the full size of the bed resting above the wheel wells so you would still have storage space from the wheel wells down the full size of the bed. It would be cab height so no additional wind drag would be present and a single door in the back same as on our campers that would allow access to the bed area. It would be light enough for 2 people to load and unload and therefore be easy to store and mount. Have same AC/heater option as the campers for optimum comfort and have tent option to attach to add a privacy room that could be heated and cooled as well. Fully insulated and as posh as you would want it to be.

Would these be able to be stand mounted as well? Would be nice to drop it at a campsite and still be able to use it.

Yeah I have already been working on a lightweight stand system that could be dropped and just plugged into power and left so that someone could still sleep and the vehicle be taken somewhere. Prices for pickup campers are crazy so this is very much needed to drive the market to an economy phase instead of 15k being the average price.

NP Todd I'm looking at anywhere from 2k to 4k depending on manufacturing cost of materials and our labor.

I think you have a definate market, if the design and functionability is there.

Yeah there's such a huge gap from the pickup bed tents to the full blown campers and a shell with a mattress just doesn't cut it. Vented pull off and put in a stand and a rear locking access door with a twin or full size bed depending on truck bed size for a quick bedroom for people pulling hunting vehicles, boats, or anything else trailer driven and can't pull a camper. Wire with a simple gfci extension cable and 15 amp supply or generator and its heated/cooled. I can do public showers or pay showers but I can't do without heat/cooling to sleep.

We'll start building this next week and I'll get some pics out and on pricing we're looking between 2k and 4k depending on materials cost and how long construction will take. I will focus on weight reduction first and then polishing the exterior finish later on. I will have to have these measurements for your truck. Floor to top of bed height front and rear. Top of the wheel wells to top of bed height. and then both the bottom width of back of cab and the top width of the back of the cab and last the top of the cab to the bottom of the bed height. Model of the truck and what length of bed it has as well. Anything shorter than a full size 8' bed will be mounted with tailgate down to the end of the tailgate so need measurement from front of bed to end of tailgate for shorter than 8' bed lengths. I don't want to cramp anyone at all in one of these. The first one will be for an 01 to 03 model supercrew F150.

Gonna take a while funding is tight so if you wanna invest or pay and buy the prototype prebuild it would help tremendously.

It will be a simple bed that can be propped up for sitting if necessary. It's going to be 7 ft long inside and the width of the truck bed so that varies according to the truck size. I'm sure a TV mount could be created for the front of the cabin easily but with such a small area can't put much inside it. It will be light enough for two people to easily load and unload for storage as well as leaving it setup at a campsite. Only thing that would make it costly would be adding the heat/cooling unit as an option.

Two things that could be a necessity around here. I can fish and hunt in the heat and cold, but I like to be comfortable when I sleep.

Yeah I kinda misstated that it would add another 500 to the price but still this thing will be well under the price of normal pickup campers and be much easier to handle and store as well so it won't be expensive overall, just an expensive option that really is necessary. That is unless the person is open to climate torture Texas style lol.

Would be interested in this product also. I have a 2000 F250 4 door long bed. I've been looking at campers now but will wait and see what you come up with.

Well we are a new company and really financially strapped so initally I'm probably looking at just fitting inside the bed and going straight up on the sides and later on doing the flared sides to make it look good and go out over the side rails like the picture shows. Quick and dirty would be a strap system to just strap it down in the bed and hit the road.
