They are a full 8' wide, same as most semi trucks, travel trailers, and motor homes. They do catch a little more wind with the higher profile. They still can weigh 2,000 plus pounds.
She still needs it!

I have had my 22ft Fisher, fishing combo for several years. I have a 90 hp on it and no its not a speed boat but it gets you there. I would absolutely go with a fishing combo and the larger motor the better. DONT run at full throttle with your live well on, the pump motor that mounts on the rear of the pontoon will be out of the water and burn up. Loading in the wind is a Bi*#%...for sure. Carry two large anchors with you if its going to be windy. Absolutely go with a tandem axle trailer on a 22 ft. and YES get the trailer brakes as well, they will be surge brakes. I love the boat, hate the carpet. I catfish a lot and they are great for that, especially at night. You can put several people on them fishing and the boat never moves, very stable. Last I checked the pontoon trolling motors, that are a very long shaft, were still expensive. I have a 72lb 24V and its great in a very light breeze. Forget using it in the wind. If I had it to do over again, I would probably go with the 18ft fishing version. Some of them have a changing room option on them, mine does and I cant tell you how often that changing room and a porta potty have come in handy..man oh man..that has been nice to have. As far as pulling one, well my 22ft has larger diameter pontoons than smaller pontoons. It sits up pretty high when on the trailer and on top of being a wind drag its still a heavy boat, not as light as you would think. The majority of the time I pulled it with a 1 ton Dodge with Cummins, then went to a 1/2 ton GMC gas with 5.3 or 8, cant remember but its the larger V8. The Diesel never knew the boat was there, the 1/2 ton knows for sure its there and so does the gas tank. My pros and cons on what I have.

I have found my Toon not to be a gas sipper compared to my equal hp CC, actually the oposite, for distance traveled the CC does way better on gas (88 on toon 90 on CC.
I also will take the toon in rough water over the CC any day.

heycods,

Is your CC a fiberglass V-bottom, or the alumimum one in the pictures? How long and is it a V or semi-V?
