Returning to DFW from Lubbock this past weekend, a Tumbleweed the size of a Volkswagen jumped out in front of us like a deer at night. I couldn't avoid not running over it and since then the oil pressure gauge has stopped working. I'm thinking it caught a wire of some sort underneath and tore it loose.

I haven't had time to get under it yet, but can someone steer me to what side of the vehicle should I begin my search? It could also be blown fuse maybe?? If so, does anyone know if the gauge has it's own independent fuse?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

i believe its on top behind the intake at the back.

i know this is a dumb question but, have you checked the oil since then. its possible you could have cracked the oil pan and now you have no oil.

It's probably located right above the oil filter. The one on the back of the intake is for the ECM.
There is a fuse, but all the gauges and maybe the instrument lights are on it. If it is only the oil gauge, it's either the sending unit or the gauge itself.
