I think Home Depot or Lowes probably carry it.

The good people at Mariner Sails recommended that I buy some Lexel from Turner Hardware.

West (Gougeon Bro's) Epoxy has a new "goop" out that really likes to stick to plastic. I have only seen it at West marine and only in pint caulking type tubes.
You can still buy 3-M 5300 about anywhere and it is great stuff too.

Good luck, Phill

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the formula for Marine Goop is exactly the same as Plumbers Goop. Both found at big box stores.

I got some stuff called E-6000 that was fairly inexpensive, and it says its waterproof, permanently flexible, so-on.
I was just hesitant to use it until I heard of someone else trying it first. Its advertised as having a pretty good bond.
So...... Anybody?

I have used 6000 on some really odd jobs since the late 1980's and it is really tough.

I actually installed about 300 sq. ft. of ceramic tile in three showers in a yacht in 1988. They actually get soaked with every use and I have not had a single failure. We used 3-m 5300 in a similar application and it worked great also.

One of my hands used 6000 for a sole repair on his favorite tennis shoes and it even held up there for the time I knew him.

The marine goop specifically states that it has a UV protective compound in it which sounds great when you're sealing off openings on the top side of the yak. But I still just used the plumbers goop because at the time I didn't live near an Academy.

The fact that we're having this debate on which sealant works best is awesome. Shows the world that we're very opposed to sinking smile

We use E-6000 exclusively to seal rivets, bolts, rod holders, etc. Easy to find at home improvement stores and Hobby Lobby.
