Got in late last night from my annual 10 day Oklahoma Panhandle hunt. It was kind of a slim year. Out of the entire time I only saw two shooter bucks which included this 18" inside spread 10 point I took. He was a skinny 150# field dressed. The drought has wreaked havoc on the game populations. Very few fawn survived the intense summer heat and no pheasant. Our section of grass where I have taken several limits of roosters was a barren waste land. The one thing that was in great numbers were the coyotes. Me and the Swift did a little thumpin on them.

It has been a rough year on all of the animals. We normally feed about 5000# of protein from Jan. - Sept. This year we went through 15000# of protein. We couldn't keep up. My brother got a nice 10 point and then saw the biggest deer he has seen on the place since we bought it '91. We got 6" of rain on the Dry Devils River in Sept. My son said, everything has greened up now. Great shooting. We went to Kansas to hunt pheasant this year on preserve. It was worth the money. The pheasant have been hit hard from the Texas Panhandle all the way to South Dakota this year. Pray for rain. We may not be able to get on our lakes next year if there is no relief in sight. Again, Congrats Revoman. Stay in touch.
