Fouz, thanks for putting these smart azzz so called anglers in place....... I've known Bass Johnson for a long time and can tell everyone of you jealous fishermen that it is a HUGE BASS that you can only dream about. Bass is a fine young man and has no reason to try and decieve anyone. I'll bet that most of you have never even caught a 7# bass let alone one this size. Everything has to go as planned to fight and land one of this size. Keep hateing and dreaming you so called experts.

Seven Pounds Even. I caught it on Freelined Bread. When I hooked it, I could've sworn I had a Lake Record Gizzard Shad!

Looks like I hit a nerve with you Big Bass fishermen. What a shame, only a few replys and only one picture that has a Big Bass. I guess that every once in a while the acorn lands in the blind squirrels lap. Some of those 7#ers look to be in the 5-6# class in my opinion. Not knocking anyones fish, their all nice just my opinion. True the bass was held out from his body. Like it or not you may not admit it to anyone, but that is a Big Bass by anyones standards. It's a shame that TFF has members that criticize another anglers fine catch.I would bet that if any of you land a huge bass such as the one in his picture, you will put a picture of your Huge Bass on here. I will also commend you of your trophy fish if and when it is posted on here.

The reason I have a certified scale is so that my weights will never be questioned. I play an honest game of Golf, and I don't lie about my fish weights- I want to be honest with myself and others about what my PB's are.

Oh... And my 7#'er was very much a stray acorn landing in my lap. I wasn't targeting it at all... Although it did come on my Berkley Series One bass rod.

Chad

Caribou maybe its best you stay on the catfishing forum. Sorry you feel this way about bass fishermen Sir. I know 1st hand how awful some of the bass guys are, but alot of catfishermen act the same foolish way. In no way was I singling out any one person. I also can appreciate the huge catfish and carp that have been displayed on this forum as well. They to are fantastic Trophys to be proud of. Why bust someones bubble because some of the members disagree and question others big catch.

why is it so hard for people to just say "nice catch, good lookin' fish"??? why would you always question the weight? if you didn't catch it, then you don't truly know. you're just playing a guessing game from a 2-3" picture on a computer screen.

Why don't people just take a picture of the scale if they are going to get butthurt when people don't believe them? I understand the skepticism and curiosity sometimes. If they didn't weigh it, then they don't know either. Sometimes it just doesn't seem right, or the fish doesn't look big enough because the picture doesn't do it justice. With that said, i'm not one to call people out.

I like all fish and am very happy to see another angler do well. That is what this is all about. Sharing the sport of fishing that we all love. Tournament day is when the weight really matters, other than that it should be the pure joy catching a big one. I have a 8 1/4 lb that measured 24 1/2 inches in my signature and that is my personnal best for lmb. It was a joy and a thrill that I will always remember. For the anglers that have broke the 10lb mark that is truley special. Congrats on all the nice catches.

Hey balazs, the marjority of my pictures are on the walls of 4 different stores around Lake Fork. I haven't been back there in around 3-4 yrs. Even the yrs prior to that I would not fish there durning the spawn. I might be able to find a few pictures from some of the 1980's Monticelo trips. My 1st DD bass weighed 10#4ozs caught on JAN.1 1980 on Monty on gold w/black lines Mud Bug crankbait. My 2nd one weighed 10#2oz at Lake Athens on a 11" Mister Twister worm in 18'of water. I quit taking big fish to be weighed durning the early 2000s because of the stress it caused them. Your picture of your bass is a fine specimen. Was it caught in a pond or lake? Looks like it is in a housing develoment. I will see what I can do to have a photo place make copies of the pictures. All of the pictures were taken on a Poloroid Instomatic, where you pulled the picture out by the tab and weighted for the picture to develop. You then pulled the developed photo from the tab.

Cool, see if you can scan them. I feel your pain, I have some pictures I want to scan from my childhood of me holding various bass, gar, catfish, and a huge carp that I caught in Hungary when I was a kid. Too bad I don't own a scanner... maybe when I visit my parents for christmas smile

I've caught 3 or 4 ten plus bass, I don't really know because one of them looked to be right on the cusp and I had no scale. The bass pictured I took measurements of because it was my biggest at the time, and still is. It was caught with a yo-zuri flat crank in 4 feet of water. The other trophy bass I have caught were targeted with 6-8 inch gizzard shad under a popping cork. It was nice having an amazing bass lake in the back yard growing up. I got plenty of practice.

To me, the exact dimensions aren't important. What is important is being face to face with a trophy fish.

Monkester I don't get it, where is the pic your upset about I've got some pics of a certified 11.4 but with all this negative talk I'm keeping em to myself. Nice fish to all, I'm not a true bass fisherman, I just like any fish that pulls, I don't care if it's bass, catfish or carp.
