Put in at the Beaumont Yacht Club looking at high water with no movement. The launch had the biggest mosquitoes I have ever seen and they were thick as a fog! Fished several places south of I-10 looking for red fish. The fish were definitely not biting like the last time we were here. My Wife caught one 20" red and lost another; I never got a strike. We moved into Meyers Bayou where the outgoing tide finally started moving. There were several boats there long with us, but I never saw a single hook set. We even tried fishing at the mouth with some of that "Trigger X" bait strip but never go a sniff that way either. I will have to use this stuff down at GSU canal in the future to see if it works. We've used "Fish Bites" in the past with good luck.
We took the boat back to the launch and put it back on the trailer. We went to the boat launch on the fresh water side of the salt water barrier. We went back to an area that we had some luck before. After about an hour and 3 fish, we found an area holding some fish. Now these fish may have not been monsters but they were somehow stacked up in one small spot. My Wife caught 17 LMB and one white bass and I caught 5 LMB and one white. All of these fish were in an area about the size of three parking spaces in 4 feet of water. Biggest LMB was about # 2 ½.
