Thinking about switching does any body have any info on safeco? Good or bad? They are offering more insurance and more on my equipment than my current ins, But if they wont fix it when i break it i dont need the extra.. Thanks

I have Safeco. Had one claim where I got a few gouges from rebar in top of stump and no issues with that claim. Payed for all of it and premium did not go up.

Only other time I tried to use was when I had all my tackle stolen while parked under my garage. They would not cover that because it was considered "unattached equipment not necessary for use" In other words, if the boat can be operated without it, then it's not covered under my policy. TM, lifejackets, stuff like that is. I checked around and found that all were that same at that time. That was about 3 years ago. They have been the cheapest in my area though. Hope this helps

Your Homeowners policy will cover that sort of stuff. Also there are riders that you can add on policies that will enable the BOAT policy to cover that unattached stuff. The thing that you need to do is check out an agency that has multiple contracts to shop your boat policy around. There are many companies out there that write coverages and the type of boat .. size of motor, area you live in ... how often you use it and how you use it .. all play into the rate ... Each company will be more competitive than another on different risks ... Call 281 442 1892 or 409- 740-1251 ... they can do this shopping for you.

My homeowners with them went up about $15 a month. Thinking of switching.
