Spent a couple of hours this afternoon fishing on a lake in my brother-in-law's neighborhood after all the turkey had been eaten. Kids and I had a great time and caught a ton of really beautiful fish, including multiple species of bream and several bass. Kids were whackin' 'em on little smokies, of all things, and using barbless hooks (a requirement on the lakes in the neighborhood).

My niece kissing her first bass ever!

My son with a huge bluegill.

My son caught 18 and was baiting his hook and taking them off at the end of the day. This is HUGE, because fishing has never kept his attention for more than a few minutes at a time. He fished for probably 2 hours today and told me that he was ready to be my fishing buddy, just not in a float tube yet! grin

My daughter with a typical bream for the day.

My niece with another good one.

An average bass for this little gem of a lake. 14+ fish are not unheard of there!

Great times and great memories. Your new fishing buddy will one day say, "Do you remember that Thanksgiving when we......"

seems like a tiny lake for that bass boat to be in the water.

It is probably 5-7 acres, Caribou. It opens up pretty wide in the lower end near the dam. The neighborhood actualy has an 2 guides who will take residents/guests out for $50/hour. They also have a fishing "shack" with rods/reels, baits, snacks, and a TV for guests by the dock. Pretty crazy stuff, but pretty cool too.
