I am doing some long range vacation study. Has anyone out there ever stayed at Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri? This is the place owned by Johnny Morris/BPS. If you have, I would appreciate your review.

Kimberling Inn is pretty decent and probably half the price of big cedar. They are super proud of all their stuff. Don't get me wrong, its gorgeous there!

We stayed in a Lakeside Cabin there for our 25th wedding anniversary and had a blast. My wife got an in room massage that was pretty good. We went into town and bought our own grocerys for a week since the cabins had a kitchen and saved 100s by doing that. I took my seadoo to cat around Tablerock and sight-see. I found that the restaurants were pretty pricey there. We hired a guide a couple of days from River-run outfitters and fished the taneycomo that was fun with fly-rods. We also had included in our package a trip to Dogwood canyons that was neat to see but the fishing wasn't too great there unless you were one of Johnny Morris' guest and got to fish the best spots which was forbidden. The resort is really family oriented and lots of family stuff to do. The cabins are really nice but you only can park your vehicle there because there is no room for even a seadoo trailer. they have trailer parking in a parking lot off of the resort which has no cameras nor guards so security is suspect there.

Just a heads up....I don't know if they still do this or not, but when we did this deal they told us we had to attend a sales presentation for one of their timeshares while we were there or we wouldn't get the special rate. The "sales Presentation" consisted of us one-on-one with an extremly high pressure salesman....If you're able to say "NO!" about a million times it works out to be a great deal!
