There's alot of action on Waco. And,the rivers around it.
Are you banking or boating?
I have good luck using shad and perch.
Matter of fact that's all I use. I've wasted soo much money on manufactured baits and store bought frozen baits.if you don't already have a cast net get one and use live perch or Shad and hunting cats will be alot less frustrating.
If you want an in depth great tour and lesson of the Lake there's a fella on this site named Fish Hauler Guide Service. He can put you on them.
Its Been on my to do list to book a trip with him for awhile.

Loc: Austin/Waco, Tx,
I have only been able to bank fish. and i only know a couple spots in waco, like Mclaughlin road off of hwy 6, and the 19th st bridge on the bosque. I use to own a cast net but it got snagged on a sunken brush pile two days after a cold front and I left it for a couple days until warmer weather to go swim for it but by that time somebody cut the rope and left it where it was. I have used a variety of baits such as cut shad/carp/gasper goo/perch/and super shad. The live baits i have used are perch shad minnows gold fish and worms. the best bait for success in my opinion is first choice cut bull shad and as second best is to use worms or minnows to catch a gasper goo and then descale it and cut it up.

As far as acess you can't beat speegleville/ woodway park down around the beach no charge and 24 hr access.thats also been a good bait spot aswell.
Next would be Reynolds Creek also unlimited access.
Daytime Keohne park $3 bank fee get out in the rocks and toss it as far as you can.have to follow park time there.
Also the closer you can get to the Dan the better.
There's a aeration there and the water drops off deep.
There's Catfish the size of Volkswagen wagons down there.
Btw you look familiar. Did you use to have a air horn in a white chevy.
