Tried making Cherry boilies last nite but dough was too sticky to roll so i just flicked partial spoonfulls into boiling water and made Globbies and just caught a 6-8 lb carp on a globbie on 2/0 circle hook Carolina rigged.....

Try this recipe
6oz semolina
6 oz soy flour
4 oz corn meal

Mix dry ingrediants together. Break 4 eggs in a separate bowl and slowly add the dry mix to the wet until you get a play- doh consistency. Boil for 2.5 minutes and air dry for at least 12 hours

I have never really understood the reason for wanting baits to be a perfect ball.
