Ok so how many of your favorite crappie spots in the creeks have water now? I drove by old alton bridge today omw to work there were 10 trucks there give it up guys how r they bitin in the creeks with this last rain? Thanks lloyd

All of NM's creeks and sloughs are "DRY"...

My "spot" is producing well prior to the rain...havn't had a chance to fish it since....

Went today it sucked. Caught 8 with 4 keepers. The rain hurts the creek fishing. I don't know why everyone thinks that if it rains they bite really good. Usually the water gets muddy and the bite slows.

Well guys im gonna be hittin up my ssp in the am this weather great ready to hopefully catch some keepers but hell who cares dinks are always fun

Well yes it is about fun
But its more fun to catch LOL I just not found any fish at all not even dinks

They are in the creeks in good numbers but the rain is hurting it. They can't see anything. Plus the water that does come in after the rain is sucked out in a week or so.

Carey said,in his seminar that they gather under the trash mats. Just make a hole in it and the fish should be there. If he ever gives anothe one for CAT or BPS go see him.


Remember too that Wally says they like muddy water
and i've seen that to be true. They can see better than you think and can smell very well. From my last trip,, last weekend, they are movindg to the bottom.

I have caught them in muddy waters but not like I do when it's clearer.

That must be why they say minnows work better in muddy waters. They can smell em' and feel thier movements.

BTW, how did you do basstastic?
